Electrical Engineer Intern - Neilson Scientific

I am currently doing a summer internship with Neilson Scientific. I am designing an electro-mechanical system for a dairy processing factory that will sterilize the products while on a conveyer belt. This internship has given me experience with Fusion 360 CAD, PCB design, and complete end-to-end engineering product design.
Research Assistant

I am currently working with BYU professors and dedicated engineering students at BYU to build a laser capable of etching 3 dimensional features in silicon carbide. My job is designing a system to automatically control the adjustment of laser optics. I'm also leading a separate project studying using optical power to assist cutting Silicon in Wire EDM (Electric Discharge Machining). Experience from this job: PCB design, Arduino, Analog, Digital circuit design, Clean Room, Laser optics, Wire EDM, technical writing, data collection and interpretation.

I love teaching and explaining concepts I'm passionate about. When I learned Calculus, math finally clicked for me, and I want to be able to help other students have that. I have a number of clients, and I just love helping them learn. This job has given me valuable experience teaching, leading, and running a business.

My job was to write questions and "feedback" for the BYU Independent Study Calculus BC course. Feedback was all the steps to a question that helped the students understand difficult concepts. This job solidified my understanding of Calculus and math in general.

The thing about this job was, the entire time I worked there, we were very under staffed, so I had to compensate and do the work for about 3 people. I learned how to work well under stress. I worked about 20 hours per week.

This was a shorter job I did mainly during the summer. I mowed and edged the lawns of a business office. I worked for about 3 hours per week.
Some of my duties included, Vacuuming, taking out the trash, washing the windows, etc. I did this job for my dad's business, Funding Universe. I worked with my brother and sister to clean it, we worked for about 6 hours per week.
